Hello,
I was looking for a simple to install bike rack for the times I only need to take one bike with me, and I came across this one on [...]. It looked perfect so I decided to try it. It fit's both of my cars (Toyota Matrix and Mitsubishi Endevor) wery well, and kees my bike safe. I have also tried it on my friends traditional car (Chevrolet Malibu) and it also worked well.
This is perfect for taking one bike with you. The installation is easy, with only four straps needing to me connected and tightened, which makes it easier than any other bike rack I have ever tried. The only suggestion I have is to make sure that the straps are going straight up and down, and that they are really tight. If the straps are crooked, they will slide over to be straight up and down and will loosen a bit.

The photo of the product looked too simple to actually work. Well, it is simple and it works great! Make sure your bike weight is balanced. No bounce or movement. Great advice in prior post re: putting attachment under brake cable. Love this product.

great rack for the bike. only con is to make sure your brake cable is under the attachment. Mine chewed into the brake line. Otherwise works very well.

I bought this bike rack to have an easier option for the times when I just want to take 1 bike and dont want to get the big 3 bike rack out. This rack easily holds my Trek Navigator and so far there have been no problems with slippage or stretching on the straps.
The rack basically has only 2 straps with 4 attachment hooks, and can be mounted on the trunk of my Buick Century in less than 30 seconds. I wouldn't use this rack for any extended trips or interstate driving, but for a quick 20 min trip to your bike riding spot it is perfect.
The only complaint I have is the fact that the bike can swing back and forth a bit after you have it mounted, which leaves the potential for your rear bumper to get a few scratches.

I received my Saris Solo rack yesterday, ordered from [...]. This rack is nowhere to be found in Canada yet. Retailers have to order them in pack of 6 so they do not want to stock it at this time of the year (end of Summer).
Total was 66$ USD shipping and taxes included. I have a 2008 MINI Cooper S and this rack was the best solution I found that does not require modifying my car or bolt something to it.
I tried the rack this morning, and it is very easy to install. I was only able to position the rack a certain way on the trunk so that it is not sitting on the rear window at all. The top paws are resting on the trunk, on each side of the MINI logo, and the bottom paws are sitting on my car plate (those who own a MINI will know what I'm talking about.)
As read on other reviews, I must be carefull to put the straps UNDER the cable wires that runs accross the middle bar of the bike (I have a Trek 7300). I also need to attach the front wheel to the bike, using a sling or something similar so it does not move during transportation.
I was concerned that the bike, especially the pedals, would hit my car when breaking or stopping but it is not the case. I just need to be carefull and position the pedals a certain way before leaving so it would hit my plate instead of the car. However, I did not hear any banging when driving around this morning, and I am not a smooth driver... It does not sound like it's moving back and forth that much like others have reported. Perhaps securing the bike a little more on longer trips would be a good idea so it doesn't move at all.
Overall, I could not go wrong with a 50$ bike rack and I am very happy with it so far.
