You need this lock if you're going to keep your Thule rack from being stolen. It bolts through your category I hitch and then the locking mechanism slips on one end. The lock is a little pricey but it works. I'm not sure if it gets covered in mud and water if it will still work. I live in Colorado and it is fairly dry here so I think the lock mechanism (which is covered) should be fine.

The Snug-Tite Lock is exactly as described. Easy to install and gives me peace of mind that my carrier will still be there after a ride.

Not much to say about this. It's expensive but after spending the money on two nice mountain bikes and a Thule T2 hitch rack I didn't want to skimp and get something cheap that was not effective. This hitch pin works as advertised. My T2 rack has hardly any sway and I feel confident that no criminals will be getting my rack anytime soon. While pricey it was a good purchase.
